Scientists using AI to advance
technology Artificial
Intelligence is being used by scientists worldwide in products we
use every day, bringing what we see in the movies closer to reality.
AI technology is advancing so rapidly that scientists have created
human looking robots, which learn the same way as we do. Creating a
human-like intelligence however is still a long way off. The closest
thing for most people is the I-phone but what is lacking
continued to be is intuition. The field was founded on the claim
that a central property of humans, intelligence, and the sapience of
Homo-sapiens can be so precisely described that it can be simulated
by a machine. This raises philosophical issues about the nature of
the mind and the ethics of creating artificial beings, issues which
have been addressed by myth, fiction and philosophy since antiquity.
Twitter Hacked Following a string of
revelations this week from several media companies who announced
they had been recently hacked, Twitter announced that it had
also been the target of a sophisticated attack. As a result, the
company said it had reset passwords and revoked session tokens for
the accounts suspected of being affected. The company also sent an
e-mail to affected users informing them that their old password was
no longer valid and that they would need to create a new one.

Ransomware targeting businessesPolice are warning that a fast-growing digital extortion
racket is attacking Australian business and home
PC users. It involves international criminals who lock up data on a
computer and then demand a ransom for the data to be given
back. The data ransom first hit four Queensland medical
centres. In Europe it is estimated there are 20,000 ransomware attacks each
day. Home users are expected to be the next big wave of
victims

Hackers target electronic
secretsAustralian intelligence
authorities are reporting a major increase in cyber espionage
attacks from abroad and fear the consequences could be devastating.
The attempts are now so frequent that entire teams work around the
clock to repel attacks on sensitive Government departments. They
come from all over the world but originate in Russia and China. Many
of them say they will keep doing it until they are paid and are
often State instigated. Beware as many viruses are passed onto
you through your emails messages
Please
Note
Hackers continue to get sophistigated as
technology improves, but there are a few simple things that you can
do. Ensure you have firewalls installed with the software protection
suitable to your PC. and Microsoft make
specific recomendations. Its a must for you to purchase an
external hard drive. They are easily available to buy, install and
use. But we advise you not to buy the cheapest as they can fail
too.
