We are all involved and often take it
for granted yet misinformation and problems accur often as its
not easy. We tend to use speech and text mainly, but the
activity of conveying information derives from the
Latin word ‘communis’ meaning to share. Communication requires a
sender, a message , and an intended recipient,
although the receiver need not be present or aware of the sender's
intent to communicate at the time of communication. It can occur
across vast distances in time and space. Communication requires that
the people involved share an area of common interest. The
process is complete once the receiver has understood the message of
the sender, but feedback is critical to effective
communication between the parties. Communication is a key factor to
the success of any organization or individual. When it comes to
effective communication, there are certain barriers that everyone
faces. What makes it complex, difficult and frustrating are barriers
such as message overload which is when a person
or company, receives too many messages at the same time, and
message complexity. To help improve your
communication we provide here some methods and programmes
commonly in use
Email
sites
Many
websites will offer you an email address as part of their package of
services. With some sites you have to nominate and email address
with them in order to log on but you don’t need to use it otherwise.
Similarly some sites want you to nominate an email address when
registering to use when logging on in future. They will send you useful information, updates and
reminders.
However, using all your
email addresses are unnecessary and hard to manage. You can easily
‘merge’ them by sending all your replies to one email manager site
only. We use two email addresses only, and suggest and highly recommend that you
record all your email log on details including passwords
(often your email
address) Your email
manager, and many other sites will often ask you to log on
again before access. If you can’t, you may lose lots of
valuable information and contacts. Many people make this mistake, I
did but quickly learnt the lesson, and now back
up all my log on details including passwords, to a
txt file and store on a separate hard drive
HotmailIts quick and easy to register, and
get your own unique email address
Mail2web You can checkyour email from anywhere using
theirWebmail service. No registration
required and they never share your information. You can
get a unique email
that reflects your interests, business and country.

Social
media
The biggest mythThat success
depends mainly on your reach. That is the number of fans, friends,
followers, Likes, re-tweets, shares, or whatever other measure you
choose. Although that
seems logical at first glance, it simply isn’t true. Having millions
of “followers” on your account doesn’t mean any of them are actually
following you in any meaningful way. Even worse, most of them
probably don’t even see your posts at all, because they get lost
among all the others they follow. Focus
instead, on consistently delivering value to the people you want to
reach, and they will spread the word naturally, and that will get
you more followers and friends. More importantly that approach will
get you the right followers and
friends

Increased charges Telstra announce price increases in Australia
from October 1 on half of their fixed-line and mobile phone
plans. They justify
this by saying that taking inflation into account; these fixed line
charges have effectively fallen 19 per cent over the past nine years as have remained
unchanged. There will not be changes for low-income customers and
pensioners. However Telstra have recently received $11billion
in compensation, so it
seems increased charges are unjustified and unfair. I got a call
from Telstra’s yesterday before I got this news asking if I was happy and I said I was now
after 6 months of over charged bills by Bigpond, but it took a call
to the Ombudsman to resolve this problem quickly. With new technologies many consider
prices should be reducing with local calls free instead of a 2 cents
increase. Increases will encourage more people to
use Skype and similar programmes. However Telstra would still win as
