to two out of three Australians shopping for something online. In
the UK total online sales are close to ten per cent of all retail
sales, while in the US it’s closer to eight percent.
Stores are usually available 24 hours a day,
and most consumers have Internet access both at work and at home.
Online shopping by the over 50's in Australia has grown
steadily over the past two years. Shoppers over 64 have increased
their monthly spend from $105 to $135 a month. Big
players in Australian retail are 10 years behind their overseas
